INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL OF BIOLOGICAL MAGNETIC RESONANCE

14th Course: Future of Molecular Biophysics

ERICE-SICILY: 7-17 MAY 2016

PURPOSE OF THE COURSE:

This course focuses on recent advances in molecular biophysics and structural biology, as applied to key problems in modern biomedical research. Lectures will cover the principles of structural biology (x-ray crystallography, NMR, Electron microscopy, computation) and biophysics (spectroscopy, kinetics, single-molecule studies), together with recent research results. The long format of the course encourages extensive discussion and life-long collaboration and friendship. Students and postdoctoral researchers from a wide range of backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

STUDENT PRESENTATIONS:

All participants are invited to make oral and poster presentations.

Oral Presentations: Oral presentations are short talks of approximate duration of 10 to 15 minutes.

Poster Presentations: Typical dimensions for posters are 42 x 42 inches, 42 x 48 inches, or 42 x 52 inches; however, the size/dimensions of a poster is the choice of the presenter, so feel free to prepare whatever size of poster you feel comfortable with and best suits your work.

For both posters and oral presentations:

  • Please e-mail an abstract of your presentation (MS Word file) to Ms. Manolia Margaris (manolia @at@ stanford.edu [replace " @at@ " with "@"]).
  • Abstracts must include: Title, Author(s)/Co-Authors, and Name of your Institution.
  • Abstracts received by 1 MAY 2016 will be included in the program brochure.

Please indicate your preference (poster of oral presentation) when you e-mail your abstract. If you wish to display a poster and give a short talk, we encourage and welcome that.
